The Tyranid Carnifex is the Tank of the Tyranid swarm. Give it Crushing Claws or Scything Talons and charge it headfirst into tanks and troops, smashing both to pieces with ease. Give it a ranged weapon and it becomes a powerful gun platform, able to blast apart anything it can reach. One is a terrifying prospect to face on the battlefield, two is a nightmare made real.
