The Stormcast Eternals are the weapons of Sigmar, his might made manifest, warriors and heroes who have shown bravery and skill and plucked by Sigmar from the Mortal Realms and enhanced and imbued with his power to become immortal warriors to fight for his cause. Even though this transformation is a harrowing process that leaves many external and internal scars, once complete these soldiers step out no longer mortal men and are stronger and more courageous than ever before.

During the maelstrom of battle the tide can turn in an instant and forces are required to redeploy at a moment's notice. For the Stormcast Eternals this is where their expert Cavalrymen the Vanguard-Palladors are in their element. Stormcast warriors are far too large to ride horses, so instead the Vanguard-Palladors ride mighty Gryph-chargers, noble beasts from the Celestial Realm. These sleek creatures stand far taller than most other mounts, with their long powerful legs they can reach speeds many other races fail to match. For this purpose the Stormcast riders wear lighter armour similar to the Vanguard-Hunters, which allows a greater level of flexibility with only a slightly diminished level of protection.
