Few vehicles are as instantly identifiable is the Sd.Kfz 251, or Hanomag as it was also known. Combining speed, protection and firepower, it ensured the infantry would break through to take and hold enemy positions. Its cross-country performance was much better than any truck and enabled infantry to stay with the leading Panzers for mutual support.

The Germans produced many thousands of these excellent machines and they served on most fronts from the fall of France of the last days in Berlin. The factories of the Third Reich could never make enough, so most panzergrenadier divisions only carried one-third of their men in such luxury; the rest were in a motley assortment of trucks.

This highly detailed plastic kit represents the Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf C which began service in 1940 and, whilst it began to be replaced by the later Ausf D variant in the latter stages of the war, this vehicle could still be found in action to the bitter end.
