Deathwatch Space Marines serve the Imperial Inquisition as its secretive militant army, as the warriors of last resort when the Inquisition needs access to firepower greater than their own forces can provide. When the need is so great, nothing other than the Imperium’s' greatest weapons will do, the call upon Adeptus Astartes. To be chosen by one's Chapter to serve in the Deathwatch is a great honour, but throughout the thousands of Space Marines within the Imperium, there may only be one in a hundred fit for the Deathwatch. Unlike other Chapters, the Deathwatch are made up of a collection of Veteran Space Marines drawn from many chapters. Serving together in the Inquisition's service for a secret period of time, each marine bringing their own elite skills and experience to the team. Each marine foregoes their home Chapter armour to form specialist kill teams that wear Deathwatch armour and only display one small segment of coloured armour with the heraldry of their chapter of Origin. Across the galaxy there are countless hostile Xenos races that threaten the Imperium of man and it is the sacred duty of the Deathwatch to stand guard against these foul and terrible invaders.

Assembled by Ortan Cassius, Ultramarines Chaplain of renown, Kill Team Cassius was the squad sent to investigate the deeply suspicious goings-on on the mining planet Ghosar Quintus. Designed to root out and punish those who would challenge the Imperium’s supremacy over the galaxy, his hand-picked coterie of warriors are fiercely loyal, impressively beweaponed and sworn to cleanse xenos filth wherever it may dwell.
